Family Group Facilitator

Prevention is the action of stopping something before happening or arising.
The Family Group Facilitator facilitates parent and / or child individual services for prevention programs.
The facilitator utilizes evidence-based programs that are designed to improve family relationships, reduce problem behaviors, and delinquency in children.
The facilitator evaluates for improved social skills and school performance in children.
The facilitator engages participation from both children and parents in designated programs.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate parent and/or child sessions for programs which includes (and not limited to) Standard Triple P Level 4.
  • Work with families to improve parenting skills and family relationships, reduce problem behaviors, and delinquency in children.
  • Facilitate Individual/family session to allow the parents and children to practice what they learned in activities and exercises.
    This is also a time for the leaders to coach and encourage family members for improvements in parent/child communication and interactions.
  • Demonstrate therapeutic relationship skills including an understanding of boundary issues and confidentiality.
    Develop therapeutic alliances with children, adolescents, and family members; work with clients to resolve the issues of their relationships.
  • Attend to issues of cultural, racial ethnic and gender diversity as they affect the course of treatment.
  • Clinically evaluate/assess clients for the need for change in level of care.
  • Complete annual education requirements.
  • Maintain current licensure or certification, if applicable; seek additional training as it pertains to career goals.
  • Participate in competency assessments, reviews, and validations.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
